I only ever posted on my fb and I had it locked down to friends only and a decade ago that felt reasonably safe. I no longer post my kids and regret ever doing so

I have been saying this for years now but it seems no one listens because I am not a parent (I’m 48). To me, it’s exploitation because children can’t make the decision to be, or not be, put up on social media. Parents may not feel that way but when the kids are older, and their pictures are all over the internet, they may feel exploited.

When she admitted in her video that she was informed about not posting her child on the internet before she posted that video told me everything I needed to know. Look, I'm glad she's wised up, but maybe she should have listened to what other people, what other experts, have been saying all along. Drey just made a video about how each of our computers/phones has it's own digital thumbprint and how" incognito mode" won't protect you from your digital fingerprint.

It’s a real shock just how many actual creeps and pdf files there are actually walking among us.. it’s a LOT. It’s why I absolutely refused to allow my son on social media until 16 and still had massive rules about what he was allowed to do until he was 18.. I don’t give a rats ass who thought I was controlling or whatever, my child was not gonna get groomed or bullied online for love nor fucking money. He turned out to be the most outdoor based not screen based kid and that’s awesome. It’s repulsive how many kids are chronically online especially with what we know now.

Cue in, even if you delete your FB account and deleted all of your posts, including pictures, FB will continue to show that you have a FB account because you are using one of their apps, or gaming systems it partners with. My lesson learned, FB used a picture from a photo I never used as a profile picture. Why, because it was still in their server. After a family member brought it to my attention in 2023, I did my research on why they were showing a picture of my on an account I deleted. Well I was playing a game that partnered with FB which allowed them rights to continue to use my picture,,etc
