I’m not wholly convinced he actually lives like this. Like this apartment is staged for content or something, because dude would be hurting so bad sleeping on that mattress. He must think skimping on things that contribute to your overall health and wellbeing is what being poor is. Like, at my absolute worst I got minimum payments on a bed in the box from Amazon because our mattress was so bad. There’s no way.

meanwhile many people have pointed out (completely disconnected from him) you actually lose money by repeatedly spending on low quality things that are either going to not be ggood and give long lasting problems, or will need to be replaced multiple times a year. whereas when you save up and spend on high quality items they are better for you and last way longer

My grandfather was frugal always went with store brand stuff had Walmart goodwill things but our house was always clean and full of stuff there’s a big difference
