I walked through the mall the night before the attacks because that was my commute (E train to PATH train). My boss had me working nights starting that night which I am grateful for because I would have been there in the morning during the attacks.

School trip when I was maybe 12 to the observation tower I remember a gentleman told me to stand in a certain position in between the two buildings and look across it. The two red poles if you watch them close enough, you can see the building sway. remember, it’s way a good bit. I will never forget.

My adopted dad worked on elevators. That day he was supposed to be there, but he was running late, on the way there he saw the attack. He thought maybe it was a movie, he turned the radio on. He cried. Couldn’t believe he was about to walk into that. He couldn’t believe his coworkers were there.

This would have been around 1998, and I genuinely have absolutely no recollection of being up there at the look-out due to only being around 4 yrs old; and that just hurts in a different way as that memory would have been so priceless and precious now 💔
