@c5news: Nine days after flash floods decimated Nepal claiming more than 1,200 lives, rescuers have found two people alive over 500-feet (170m) inside hydropower tunnels laden with mud. The workers were freed during an operation at the Trishuli 3A tunnel, a hydropower project in one of the areas worst affected by the disaster, army spokesperson Brig Gen Raja Ram Basnet said. Sanjay Shah, a foreman, was found first, and taken to army barracks in Trishuli. An project supervisor, identified as Kabir Maharjan, was also rescued. The pair were freed from a depth of 170 metres (558ft) inside the tunnel, Mr Basnet said. The body of a third person, who is yet to be identified, was also recovered. Police on Friday halted the search as they found no further signs of life. Mr Shah has been quoted as saying he was in a tunnel control room at the time of the floods with 40 to 45 others. #5news #nepalfloods #tunnel
