I know EVERYONE falls in love with the cuteness of the babies even over 3 month old kittens - but kittens really shouldnt be adopted out before 3 months of age (12 weeks or close to) For breeders: Kittens should be weaned fully by 8 weeks of age and eating solid food however they are still learning valuable socialization by their mothers at that age. For rescue: kittens are weighed daily and receiving medical care. As neonates, they need to be syringe fed with a heating source with potty stimulated. And as they grow older, they need to be vaccinated every 3-4 weeks, dewormed, flea and tick meds, microchipped etc. Once they hit 1 kilo in weight, they can be spayed or neutered. And once healed, as long as they are otherwise healthy and socialized, they can be up for adoptoon! But be prepared - kittens have a fee from breeders to cover all of their expenses and medical care AND OF COURSE they have a fee from rescues who are often offering even MORE oversight and proper care. But the cost for babies doesn't stop there! You need to be prepared for the adoptoon fee, likely another round of vaccines, supplies, and future vaccines etc. And don't overlook the adult cats!! There are so many adult cats who will cost you less to adopt, come with their most recent vaccines, and will love you just as much! In fact, unless you have a lot of time to play with kittens/can handle the scratching and teething stage, many people find adult cats more suitable for their schedules, their home environment, etc! I am just saying, nobody should be adopting out or selling baby kittens, and the younger they are, the more they will cost upfront and overall, so be prepared! #animalrescue #fosterkittensoftiktok #kittensoftiktok #kittenrescue #catadoption
