I do skip a pay twice a year at my credit union. Once in summer when I'm feeding the kids out of school and another at Christmas. It's so helpful.

My credit union also offers this, it’s been so helpful when my husbands work is slow in the winter. They let us skip a payment twice a year. We do have to pay a small fee but it’s a lot less than our car payment.

It surprises a lot of people that when you communicate with your lenders, they’re really willing to work with you because they want their money. And it’s not just that it’s calling him once a month to ask him what kind of deals they have to lower your interest or your everything even with insurance I had the best auto insurance forever just because I called him once a month and nag the hell out of them.
