@pbsnews: With the growing widespread use of artificial intelligence, big tech companies are pivoting from pushing computer science in schools to building data centers, The New York Times' Natasha Singer says. The shift is affecting employment opportunities for those former students, she notes. "We saw big companies like Google and Microsoft and others that have pushed for computer science in schools; suddenly, they're pivoting. They're spending hundreds of billions of dollars building data centers to fuel the growth of AI services," she told Horizons host William Brangham. "They're laying off thousands of people, and suddenly, these kids who were told that if you just learn to code, you will get this powerful, high-paying tech job, they're having trouble getting jobs."
