Are we not mature enough to recognize fiction? I'm never going to argue against someone choosing not to play due to their own conviction, but it's a video game. It's not real. you're not "committing sin". With that logic, Christians shouldn't play Super Mario because murder is sinful and Mario kills enemies all the time. I'm an adult and can recognize satirical writing and story telling devices. Yes, it's a mature game for mature adults who can decide for themselves. The existence of GTA shouldn't threaten my faith. I can engage with fiction and submit my real life actions and words to Jesus just fine. "All things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial." What we were really talking about here is legalism. If you have reasons to not play it for yourself, then praise God you're able to submit to that. but that's not an objective, universal standard. That's a personal conviction.
