The people defending Lindsay bc “she loved her kids 99% of the time and only killed them 1% of the time” sound like people who defend domestic violence bc “he’s sweet to you 99% of the time and only hits you 1% of the time.”

Nothing about this assessment is true. The only thing you are doing is examining the person and not the case itself. We have a legal system that says innocent until proven guilty and the prosecution has to do its job to provide details. The husband took life insurance out on the kids and Lindsay did not. There was no motive, no intent proven, no dna from Lindsay on the murder weapons, no evidence on anything except for a medically induced and drugged confession. Which is not admissible as n court. And that should be a relief to everyone as that’s supposed to protect you if you are ever in legal trouble. Additionally, there could be another trial.

there is a 3rd population of people such as myself who does not support her necessarily but simply says that there are enough unanswered questions that gives reasonable doubt.

Unpopular opinion amongst my community, but just to try to give some insight as a Christian woman why I struggle with this, is that I legitimately believe she suffered from psychosis and was completely unable to control what happened. She wasn't in her right mind at all. So, yeah, I do feel for her if I'm being completely transparent.

I think it is more people feel sorry for her because the system clearly failed her. Her husband clearly failed her. And for anyone who has felt postpartum depression before know that it could have been any of us if we didn’t have people that listened to us and loved us enough to help us find our way back. We see ourselves in our darkest moments in what has happened to her. Now all of this to say, I don’t agree with what she did or think she should get off easy, but I think we need to acknowledge that there were others that clearly didn’t do their jobs to help her

I do know there are a lot of women who are, for some reason, saying that she didn’t do it… But I think there are a lot of women who just want to have a conversation about postpartum and how serious postpartum depression is and can be. But for those of us who simply want to talk about women’s mental health and postpartum depression, those who are defending Lindsay are making it seem like everyone is defending her. When that is not the case… and now there are some wild statements being thrown at women across the board. I have heard multiple men and have seen multiple comments from men saying that if Lindsay can kill her kids, then why can’t men rape women. What could have been an excellent conversation about helping mothers has gone south so quickly.

Tell me the legal questions should be 1. Is she guilty of a triple homicide, verdict: yes 2. Once the obvious is established than her condition should be considered during the sentencing phase.

I appreciate you being a voice that isn’t saying that women are all just crazy or incapable of logical thought or controlled by their emotions/hormones like I’ve seen so many men say. It doesn’t make sense to me from Christians especially. If God made us women less able to control ourselves then we wouldn’t be held to the same standards of repentance. I’m so disgusted by this case and by the support Lindsay is getting. And I think that your explanation makes a lot of sense, especially that last point.

I believe you have to be out of your right mind to kill someone. Sane people don’t strangle their children. She’s still culpable tho. I fully support Lindsey Clancy getting life in prison

as a society we have systematically erased anything religious or spiritual from our understanding. while this can possibly be an act of pure evil, can we truly discount the possibility of her dealing with what we would once call demon possession? could she have been manipulated or succumbed to pressures not of this realm? and if that's the case can't we have sympathy for somebody fighting a battle most of us don't understand.
