@drjoedamiani: ๐ฅ Neck movement hurts? Try these 3 REVERSE movements! Instead of moving your head on your body, keep your head relatively still and move your body underneath your head. ๐ก Why would this help? With persistent neck pain, movement can sometimes become associated with pain or threatโespecially when certain motions have repeatedly aggravated symptoms. โก Moving the body underneath a relatively stable head gives you a different way to reintroduce rotation and side bending. โก The band provides feedback and light resistance to help you maintain your head position. โก Youโre still creating relative movement between the head, neck, and trunk, just approaching it differently. ๐ ๏ธ 3 reverse movements: โ
1. BAND ON THE SIDE Place the band against the side of your head and maintain gentle pressure while moving your body underneath you to challenge side-bending control. โ
2. BAND ON THE FRONT Move the band to the front of your head. Maintain pressure while rotating and moving your body underneath your stable head. โ
3. BAND ON THE BACK Finally, place the band behind your head and repeat the controlled body movements while resisting the band. Start with a comfortable range and gradually increase the movement as your neck tolerates it. The goal isnโt just to move your neck moreโitโs to give your nervous system another way to experience neck movement with control and gradually build confidence in the motions that normally bother you. #NeckPain #ChronicNeckPain #NeckExercises #NeckMobility #PhysicalTherapy
