I feel like where I live in S. MPLS has been a lightning rod, ground zero essentially. For exhausting, heart wrenching; national and global events. And while I’m proud of the response and capability of my community. Folks looking to negatively opine on my state or neighborhood should stay in Iowa or wherever tf they’re from. We are collectively healing with cheese curds and Sweet Martha’s over here. “I beg your pardon. But this is my secret garden.”

Also, can we talk about the fact that the same people who “hate the state” who live here end up, leaving for places like Texas and then immediately come back a few years later…… people can hate on Minnesota all they want. At the end of the day people are still moving here for a reason.

I had a large Pride flag on my porch. I took it down for a few days (pole needed replacing) and heard my old, loser neighbor was relieved. So, we went to Misfit Toys and bought a new pole and a BIGGER, updated Pride flag.[Tears of joy][Tears of joy] He won’t come to our yard to bug us because of the flag. It’s delightful.

I moved here from Florida in 2012. Best decision ever! The people here are lovely and caring. I feel more connected to the people in this state than I ever did in Florida, and I am truly grateful to be able to call Minnesota home.
