A U.S. study found that more socially liberal people reported more partners, more masturbation, more sex toy use, and more adventurous sexual behavior. More socially conservative people reported fewer partners, later first sex, more traditional sexual behavior - and higher sexual satisfaction. The interesting part is that attitudes and behavior don’t always line up neatly. Political identity may tell us something about how people think about sex, but it doesn’t tell the whole story about what they actually do. And as always: correlation isn’t causation.
