Ok my border collie puppy doesn’t even pay attention outside and as soon as we bring her in she uses both 1 and 2 in her crate if anyone has any tips ( we walk her and stand outside for a good time) she just wants to play (we do play and hearding time ) but we can’t get her to stop we tried to smaller her space and make it comfy it’s a no

We fixed this by keeping our dog out in the garden and only letting him in till he peed, yes we did let him in at night and no it was not during winter or cold days, it made him learn very quickly that peeing/pooping = immediately being let inside the house, as he did prefer the inside over the outside

Treats treats treats!! When she potties outside make it a super big exciting deal. Happy voice, give her treats, and show really excited body language. She will start to associate going potty outside with good things happening. Never reward when she goes inside. Frown and say no. They can read our general emotional state, so if they perceive inside as bad she should stop doing it. Off leash in a safe area will also help her potty outside. My dog will not go on a leash outside, she needs to be off leash.

I used special extra yummy treats for when he peed outside. That got him potty trained really quickly.
