@nextleveldgtl: Path 5: Access & Scarcity. The Path That Cuts Across All Scaling Models There’s a fifth dynamic that sits across every scaling path and almost no service business uses it fully: access. A product is something received. A service is something done for someone. Access is something they’re let into — limited, direct, personal involvement with the person who actually understands the problem. That shrinks the distance to the outcome. When someone buys a generic service they’re hoping it works. When they buy access they’re buying certainty — and most people will pay a premium for that because uncertainty is exhausting. Scarcity works the same way. The instinct is to fill every slot and say yes to everyone. But completely maxing out demand removes the leftover wanting, the story, and the reason for anyone watching to move faster next time. Deliberately leaving some demand unmet turns it into pressure that compounds into trust and momentum. That pressure is usually worth more than one extra sale today.
