This process is led by expert craftsmen who refine the surfaces, ensuring that light plays across the body as intended. Master modelers like Haruo Yuki strongly believe that the human eye catches details that digital software might overlook, making clay an irreplaceable step in evaluating the Murano's aesthetic balance and character. With the clay model standing at full scale, designers walk around it, evaluating proportions, stance, and flow from every angle. Adjustments are made by adding or shaving layers of clay, sometimes by mere millimeters, to perfect the visual impact. The model is then coated with a glossy film, often known as Dinoc, to simulate the reflection of real car paint, helping Nissan's team visualize how the final production vehicle will appear under natural light. Once the clay model reaches its final form, it serves as a bridge between conceptual vision and engineering feasibility.
