can you plz explain the passive " You have been laid to". why do we have this sentence in Passive voice? only Sub+ verb+obj structure can be changed to Passive voice. In the above sentence, we have intransitive verb Lie and lie is followed by the prep To, not object, then how has it been changed to Passive voice? plzzzzzz answer

I’ve always been confused about the difference between “say” and “tell” like “say the truth” and “tell the truth “

Dave, brazilians tend to use more formal language since English formal speech looks like Portuguese. so for us, phrasal verbs are problematic haha

As a Spanish and Portuguese speaker, the hardest part of learning English for me is phrasal verbs. For instance, a word like 'pull' completely changes its meaning when combined with prepositional words like 'over', 'up', or 'off'.

I'm not a native English speaker but I do have to use English as my main language and I can say that phrasal verbs should not be considered as a priority to learn. Some of them are part of your daily vocabulary . find out , look for...but as he has said there are other words you could use and for Spanish learners are also easier to use.
