Simba is actually good rep of non sexual grooming from a family member but no one talks about it. He convinced Simba into doing terrible acts that would get him in trouble (elephant graveyard) and made him believe everything that happened to his father was his fault. Even when he was an adult and confronting him he believed he was still in the wrong up until Scar admitted to killing Mufasa. You can see how it affected him in the second movie too

simba really thought he was just his sarcastic funny uncle who he could trust and never treated him like he was too young. scar's beef with mufasa and later Simba simply bc he was a boy really ruined his whole relationship with him. I do remember seeing an artist make a mini comic where scar just decided not to off mufasa and continued to be Simba's sarcastic uncle that they don't know was moments away from killing his brother

Simba really loved Scar and enjoyed spending time with him. Scar was the only one who "comforted" him after Mufasa's death. Which makes his betrayal hurt even more because he grew up believing Scar liked him too only to find out he was the one who killed his dad. That betrayal changed Simba and I think that trusting Scar is his biggest regret.😭😭😭😭

I think the hardest part to watch of the Lion King is when Scar kills Mufasa because despite everything they went through as kids, Mufasa still loved Scar, Scar just never healed.

Simba admired his nonchalant, sarcastic demeanor… the thing Scar used to hide his insidious agenda. His sarcasm and half-compliment during the very scene used was more manipulative hate.. poor Simba tbh

it is clear that Simba is very fond of Scar as a cub: he trusts him completely, seeks out his company, and seems to admire him. I think it is possible that, before the events of the film, Simba spent a lot of time with his uncle. Mufasa, as king, had to watch over the Pride Lands, while Sarabi had her own responsibilities within the pride. Scar may therefore have become an important adult figure in Simba’s life, almost like a second father. It is never explicitly confirmed, but it would perfectly explain why Simba trusts him so completely and never suspects that his uncle might want to hurt him.

It’s really annoying how people keep trying to say that Scar cared about Simba, no the fuck he didn’t. Simba was not meant to survive after Mufasa died, the hyenas were supposed to kill him. Since they couldn’t catch him, they lied about it and Simba had a chance to grow up
