I’m sure he is an EXTRAORDINARY actor who would be absolutely perfect for this role however I just cannot envision him as Snape. Severus is meant to be pale and almost ‘dead’ looking, similar to a vampire. I would not care at all if it was just about this but he was also a bullied and tormented teenager, and he was a feared and hated teacher. Putting this all together with an actor who is of colour makes it just seem like the show is racist.

In the book he is described as “sallow” “pale” and “sickly skin” making Snape a black teacher is going to make it seem so racist when Harry doesn’t trust him and when James is bullying him. Nothing against the actor of course but this is going to cause so much backlash. It’s making the show and actors look bad.

It’s not bc of his skin color ,it’s the fact it was supposed to be accurate to the book I’m sure he will be good at it but in the book he is deceive pale white ,and the fact James and Harry are going to look very rasict for billing snape for no reason
