@sandiegorealtorcortney: Did you know the sand dunes on Coronado Beach spell out C-O-R-O-N-A-D-O? It’s true! The story dates back to 1988, when City of Coronado employee Armando Moreno was tasked with cleaning up a massive amount of kelp that had washed ashore. Instead of hauling it away, he buried it in the sand and began shaping the dunes into letters. What started as a cleanup project turned into a two-year process, and eventually, the iconic CORONADO dunes we know today. Just one of the little details that makes Coronado such a special place! #coronado #coronadobeach #sanddunes #dunes #sandiegohiddengems

I grew up in Coronado, and let me tell you… the center of the R dune has seen some thangs 🤭🫣 That’s where us kids would go to party and get into all kinds of shenanigans, safely hidden from the crowds and prying eyes. It was basically our own private beach 😂
