It is not entirely false. Quite a bit that Johnny remembers is the truth. iirc he even planted a bomb (a firebomb, not a nuke) in the elevator. He just died when Smasher entered the room and never made it to the roof or got taken out on a stretcher. Pondsmith specifically didn't want 2077 to screw with any player campaigns that followed the mission. It's possible Blackhand set off the bomb, the player team in the basement did it, or Johnny's firebomb caused it to go off. In any case, it's not nearly everything in his memories that's false. Some is for sure, but it's more accurate than not.
