I just got fired because the greedy boss realised I don’t dance to their tune, so they found a reason to get rid of me - apparently because I’m “not happy” in their company. 🤣 OMG, can you believe it? I’m not happy, but somehow everything still gets done by the deadline! 🤣

As a Dev, I saw the writings on the wall several years ago because I studied AI and I realized that once corporations don't need us, they will discard us immediately. I reskilled and started my own consulting company eventually. Aaron is largely correct about automation. If you don't have a skill where you can always beat AI, you are not guaranteed to have a job or income. When it comes to the bottom line, companies don't care if you have a family, mortgage, etc... I saw many sad stories.

I was recently been let go with just one hour’s notice, having just less than two years of service. I knew there was always this risk with corporate jobs, so I made sure to take control of my finances and have enough saved to cover myself for 3–6 months if anything happened. Hopefully, in the long term, I can build and own my own business so I can create something more secure and sustainable for the future.
