Knives out:Wake up Dead Man is unintentionally the best Christian movie. I HATE God’s not Dead

This is why I wrote my own book which is unapologetically Christian, but doesn’t preach

Any heavily biased story will fail, regardless of what bias it has, there’s a reason why LOTR and Narnia and Hacksaw ridge are all seen as good Christian based movies

A lot of Christian movies are cheap, badly acted, written and prioritize telling a message instead of telling a coherent story with compelling characters and themes. Integrate the message into the story instead of hammering it home. And a lot of dialogue is sermonized instead of it being natural.

But that’s the reason most people don’t believe. It’s always a heart issue lol even when you give solid logical arguments, skeptics still don’t believe.

The best example of a Christian is movie is the Narnia franchise, and Prince of Egypt.

then what are some Christian movies you WOULD suggest? the only one I've seen is passion of the Christ, every other one I've seen anything about felt too much like a made for lifetime movie

In my opinion, The premise of “College kid challenged on his beliefs for the first time must step up” could have made a decent movie. However, it was wasted on “Atheists are all jerks we have to prove wrong.” And that’s before the politics involved in the next movie.

Literally one of my biggest gripes. Christian movies just tend to be actually horrible.

There’s literally a scene where somebody’s talking on the cell phone and at the same time they’re complaining about how their cell phone overheated while talking on the cell phone and they can’t use their cell phone because it’s overheated. While talking on the cell phone. It’s a terrible movie.

It’s this fictitious image conservatives have of most liberal colleges, whereas in reality the professor in the movie isn’t aloud to do what he did in the first place. It would have taken one complaint to the dean of that department and the movie would have been concluded.

At the time I didn’t know one Christian who liked the movie, they just watched it to support Christian media.

Thank you!! As a believer it drives me nuts when I hear “it was SO… GOOD!” Just because you agreee with a message in a movie doesn’t make it good. They equate good message with good overall quality production.

Finding solid movies to watch with a youth group is difficult for this exact reason 😭. So few options that can demonstrate the faith organically. It seems like that industry has become quite efficient at producing emotionally manipulative, echo-chamber, hallmark slop rather than films that really demonstrate the faith well outside of feel-good moments. No shade if you enjoy these movies, but many of them often fail at presenting anything of substance, and that is a shame given the source material we have to work with in the Christian faith.

😂 Then Kevin Sorbo, the teacher is hit by a car. Like😭😂. And the concert, and the teacher gets the text message as he’s dying.

corageous and fireproof are the lone 2 Christian movies I watch on repeat. they are entertaining on their own rights as movies. most of the other adult Christian movies (Narnia and kids movies notwithstanding) are just awful from production, story, and writing perspectives.

honestly, I think that cop out they use is part of a larger problem of depicting everyone who isn't Christian and doesn't convert as a bad person. if an atheist watches that movie, they will reasonably conclude that Christians hate them
