@iamterencegarcia: Getting a case manager to say “YES, I have someone who needs housing” is exciting. But what happens next? This is where I see a lot of people get stuck. They spend weeks trying to connect with organizations and find people who need housing... Then someone finally says yes and they're scrambling trying to figure out what to send, what paperwork they need, how to collect payment, and what happens after the person moves in. You don't want to build the process AFTER you get the referral. You want the process ready before the referral ever comes. That's why I have a system for everything from the initial intake and tour, all the way through payment, move-in, communication, monthly updates, and asking for feedback. It does two things: It makes it easier for me and my team to know exactly what happens next. And just as importantly, it makes the experience easier for the case manager and the person we're housing. No guessing. No searching through old emails trying to remember what you sent last time. No creating a new document every time someone needs housing. The goal is to build a business that can repeat the same process over and over again. Because getting ONE referral is great.
