the teachers in rooms next to me have asked me how I get out of school so fast - hello, the day is over, I'm out! my daughter gave me a quote, the "opener knows who closed" 😄 I'll deal with everything the next day

Hard no. I never skip lunch; I won't arrive earlier than 7:30/8am; and when I leave, I leave it at the school. Protect your mental health. I learned quickly that boundaries are crucial or it will soul-suck you in this profession.

It’s crazy because we got told at my school “you’re salary. You don’t just stop working” I am now trying to go hourly if they want to play that game 😂😭 how dare people expect teacher work for free when we’re already so underpaid

I get to school an hour early to avoid traffic. I put a show on my ipad and prep my powerpoint slides. It’s the only thing I do outside of contract hours bc it makes my life easier and less stressful. Everything else can wait.
