Everyone thinks its the strike after that counts, its the first deflection that causes a hesitation, that hesitation is what Wing Chung capitalizes on. But its not the only martial art that does this. Better to have the elbows of Wing Chung and the distance of the fist management with boxing. Why you you think he started using his fingers as a mesument? This type of martial art brings an opponent in dangerously close to surprise with speed. MMA is the end goal but I dont think Wing Chung is bad it is an untapped spot. Very close quarters combat requiring elbows to strike as a deflection. I would love to see this happen, but I dont think any man can keep this speed at a high level competitively. People need a certain distance to react, even on its own.
