Why I do what I do - for Finn 💓 There is a little boy who changed my life forever- and his name was Finn 💖 Finn was only 2 years and 9 months old when epilepsy took him from me He was the best dog I have ever known He wasn’t “just a dog” He was my boy. My family. My happiness. A little soul who was loved more deeply than I could ever put into words. And when I lost him, I felt an anger that I still carry. Anger at epilepsy, anger that such a beautiful life could be taken so unfairly, anger that I couldn’t save him 💔 But underneath all of that anger was something else… Love 💞 An enormous amount of love that suddenly had nowhere to go. And slowly, I realised that perhaps I didn’t have to let that love disappear with him… I could carry it forward So now, when I look at the dogs in Romania, I try to see what I have learned from Finn I see a soul - not a number in a shelter, a difficult dog, an old dog or a dog who has been overlooked too many times A soul A life that deserves to matter I couldn’t save Finn. I couldn’t change what happened to him. But I can change what happens to another soul 💫 I can help the frightened dog learn that human hands can be kind 💗 I can help the dog who has spent years behind bars finally feel grass beneath their feet 💓 I can help the puppy who was abandoned on the side of the road find a family 💜 I can help the sick one get the treatment they desperately need 🌟 I can stand up for the ones who have nobody standing up for them 🥲 I can’t save every animal, but I can save the one in front of me. And then the next one. And the next ❤️‍🩹 And perhaps that is how Finn gets to stay with me. Not by replacing him - nothing could ever replace him. But by allowing the love I have for him to reach other souls 🐶 Every dog that finds a home. Every frightened animal that learns to trust. Every life that gets another chance 🐱 Every happy photograph sent to us by an adopter. Every tail that finally wags. Every animal that survives because somebody decided they mattered 💘 A tiny piece of Finn’s legacy lives in all of it 🕊️ One day, I hope I can look back and know that although Finn’s life was far too short, the love he left behind helped change hundreds - perhaps thousands of other lives. So when I say Every Soul Matters, I mean it with every part of me. Forever for Finn. For every soul waiting for their chance. And for every animal we haven’t found yet. Finn mattered.
