tbh, many teenagers rant about how they want to leave this island, and it's everyone's own life problems, but at the end of the day, it ends up being one of the safest islands and one of the least probable places where war can break out, western culture might never even come close to what it's like to live here, yet we all chase trends of the west

existential crisis :
left and then came back and realised how much i was taking my country for granted. the people are so warm and friendly, the nature is amazing, the culture is so rich. yeah we have issues (like many countries around the world) but at least i get to watch the most beautiful sunset on the beach after a shitty day. i'd take living here a thousand times over getting treated like shit in a western country. besides, if we all leave, we can't expect to change our island for the best. so many of us are out there working with communities, fighting authorities and challenging the privileged ones. so glad i came back and realised that i was biased in my youth and looked down on my own people.
