@dailymail: The Lindsay Clancy murder trial has officially ended in a MISTRIAL after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict. The panel of nine women and three men deliberated following five weeks of evidence, repeatedly telling the judge they were hopelessly deadlocked. It later emerged that 11 jurors had reportedly reached the same verdict, while one holdout juror remained opposed. Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, claimed that juror was refusing to follow the law and was biased against people with mental illness. He launched a last-minute emergency appeal to stop the mistrial, but Massachusetts’ highest court declined to intervene. Clancy has admitted killing her three children - five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan, at their Duxbury home in January 2023. But she pleaded not guilty, with her defense arguing she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and could not be held criminally responsible. Prosecutors argued the killings were planned and intentional. The case now effectively goes back to square one. Clancy remains charged with murder and manslaughter and will continue to be held at a psychiatric hospital while prosecutors decide whether to put her on trial again.
