I was around 25 when i tried talking to my father make him realise i love him but long story short he said he has his sister’s and brother’s son for him. He said he does not consider his kids to be his family. Today he is bed bound.. wearing diapers.. and when i look at him i dont get any sympathetic feeling… i dont feel anything towards him.. no love no hate. Just blank.. he never loved us from as far as i can remember. Im 38 now!! And in past 17 years id have spoken to him maybe 5 times… am i wrong? The story is long but cant be asked to type it all.. but all fathers are not loving and caring. It really does break their kids. Im a grown man but still the child inside me is crying rn. Wish i had a good father.

It’s not Haram, and it has nothing to do with Mazhab ( religion). But it’s true that the parents in that part of the world don’t use encouraging words towards their children. But I repeat again it’s not haram and never in religion. Infact the religion tells you to be kind and encouraging towards your kids. It’s a cultural thing not a religious thing.
