Using a firearm in self defense has to be self defense. Your life has to be in the balance. Lawson should have spent life in prison. Lawsons life was not threatened. Lawson did not fear his life was in danger. I have been in a fist fight downtown with my firearm in my waste. At no time did I even try and reach for it. Lawson has zero firearm discipline.

If someone owns a gun, you should have some kind of control now if someone comes at you want to fight with you with their hands then you should fight them with your hands now if someone comes at you with a knife, then you should fight with a knife now, someone comes at you with a gun then maybe you all should have a shootout that man did not need to die by having a gun, he showed a attempt to kill and the time was not justified. He should’ve got more time.

One would assume that there is more to this story than is being told but, that said, the victim did escalate by throwing the punches BUT hardly life threatening. No castle doctrine here. The judge was almost certainly bound by law. The true tragedy is that both families are now without fathers and the shooter's family will be left destitute after the civil suit....all over something incredibly stupid.😎
