But the real question is: Who gave them the right to take over parking spaces that are supposed to be public property? In many areas, sidewalks and public roads have become as if they were the private property of restaurants and valet companies. Sometimes you’re expected to pay hundreds of thousands of Lebanese pounds, or even $10 or $20, without any clear pricing or effective oversight. If valet parking is optional, that’s perfectly fine. But if you can no longer park in a public space without their permission… then there’s a problem worth discussing. Do you think this is an encroachment on public property?
