When he got into the glue, he first stood and watched everything, but when he realized it wasn't his COYOTE's doing, he attacked. He created chaos and only then ran away. im pretty sure part of Roadrunner courtship is chasing eachother or being chased by the other and also sharing food so coyote has been accidentally engaging in Roadrunner courtship technically.

In the movie he seems pretty interested in what’s happening after he gets trapped, like he can’t wait to see what Wile E. whipped up this time, but as soon as he sees it’s not his coyote he runs. Which further implies that any moment Wile E. has ever had him kind of trapped, he could leave at any moment but lets the traps play out because Wile E. puts so much work into them.

Yeah I imagined being so confused and concerned about Coyote not chasing him. It's basically his job to chase down the roadrunner everyday and every try. Building traps and inventions that always ended up in failures for years. But in this situation it hits the Roadrunner differently, he always enjoys the game of hide and seek, but instead of Coyote chasing him, the entire ACME government is chasing him.
