Girlllll I’m getting married in Cabo in December and my planner just sent over the quote for floral, decor, and rentals and it was $130k over what she told us to expect for those things :-))))))))

this is crazy, I’ve definitely heard of the commission thing with planners and it is so off putting. If they’re booked for partial/full service planning, recommending vendors is literallyyyy a part of the job description lol

Seems like a kickback, some sort of extra commission using her vendor’s…. I had something similar and honestly parted ways and am planning my wedding entirely myself. I found an amazing day of coordinator and am so happy. -sorry this happened but vids like these can help future brides

Is it called a commission? I’ve seen pricing based on like your overall budget. So if your wedding is 100k vs 500k. Those are different levels of weddings so more work?

I work for a wedding venue where we also have planners- It depends on the route you take 😊 There are usually 3 options: (in our case) 1. Full planning: The planner handles everything and adds a commission to vendors, but vendors often give planners better rates, so it can sometimes still be cheaper than booking directly. 2. Day-of planner: You organise everything yourself, then the planner takes over on the day and coordinates all the vendors. 3. Partial planning: The planner handles the bigger suppliers (food, furniture, photographer, etc.) and you organise the smaller details. She then coordinates everything on the day.
