@meghannmcuniff: Lindsay Clancy's next court appearance is on Sept. 29 after the judge declared a mistrial in her murder trial today because the jury couldn't unanimously agree on a verdict. Clancy still is charged with three counts of murder for strangling her children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan — on Jan. 24, 2023, in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Prosecutors indicated they will try her a second time, and Judge William Sullivan said his "thinking is to try it sooner rather than later, but I'm not sure that sooner." Clancy's attorney Kevin Reddington said he wants to "argue a 25B2," which is a post-trial motion for a required finding of not guilty. After the jury left, Judge Sullivan said he wanted to "compliment all three counsel," referring to Reddington and the prosecutors, Shanan Buckingham and Jennifer Sprague. "A trial like this so hard, so difficult, and so I just kind of wanted to to thank the three of you for your efforts in regards to this," the judge said. His clerk formalized the mistrial for the record at 2:30 p.m. "In the matter of Commonwealth versus Lindsey Clancy, the court declares a mistrial. All prior bail orders remain in full force and effect. This matter is continued to September 29, 2026 at 9 a.m. for status trial assignment and the Rule 25 motion in Plymouth," she said. #law #court #crime
