I think for me personally someone who discovered CRNA school late and didn’t set myself up the way these new nurses who knew they wanted this since birth, that sometimes asking for stats is sometimes use to discourage myself and that why I stopped caring to ask because I know if I did I would allow it to allow me to tear myself down

The numbers are truly the bare minimum. That is one piece I always tell ppl. Show schools why you are a leader in your current role and how you integrate your education NOW so that they can imagine you as a leader in the industry. Showing a bit of personality and passion can go a long way 🫶🏻

I think mine was luck! lol I did have a good GPA but it was a new program and I’m the first cohort so I feel not as many people knew about it to apply. I also took their Transition to Nurse Anesthesia course (3k$) to satisfy their advanced chemistry course. Which may or may or may not have helped because there are several in my cohort that didn’t take it. But I think if you’re honest and friendly in your interview I think that helps the most! Show you can be supportive and team player.

I’m just going to make sure that I make myself look like the best applicant I can be as it pertains for what that looks like in my eyes. Definitely going to take advice and mentorship but at the end of the day it’s myself that’s going to get me into anesthesia school, not mirroring someone else.

I get this! I also see this as a personality thing. Where someone can feel discouraged by looking at someone else’s stats but me personally I get inspired and motivates me to do better and go harder. So I can see it both ways.

I’m in nursing school, and I’m lowkey freaking out. I’m getting 90s and 91s, but they’re considered Bs because you need at least a 93 for an A. I keep thinking about my GPA and whether it’ll be competitive enough when I graduate.

I highly agree! I never share my stats for this reason. Sometimes it inspires, sometimes it discourages, i always tell people schools don’t just accept because of x, or y factor.
