And her boyfriend was 27 year old Christian Obumseli. They lived together in this stunning Miami apartment. But it would soon be the scene of a horrific crime. Behind closed doors the pair were VERY toxic. They’d both be violent and aggressive towards each other. CCTV clips have gone viral showing them both in aggressive altercations. On the 1st April a member of staff at the apartment called police to say they saw Christian charging at Courtney. She asked for a protective order against him. On 3rd April Courtney rang police. As police raced to the scene Courtney could be heard crying ‘baby I’m so sorry’. Paramedics could not save Christian and Courtney was arrested for the crime. There was evidence that police had been called out to the couple at least 4 times and Courtney’s lawyers argued she was a victim of physical, mental and emotional abuse But Christian’s family stated ‘the idea this was somehow warranted is unthinkable’. This was definitely a very controversial case - people argued both sides, but eventually Courtney accepted a plea deal in court.
