The thirty second trick to stop caring what other people think. Set a timer for thirty seconds. In that window, try to name every single person who’s currently thinking about you right now, at this exact moment. You won’t get very far. Most people can’t name more than two or three, and even those are a stretch. Thirty seconds is usually enough time to expose how small that imaginary audience actually is compared to how large it feels in your head. Here’s what’s actually happening when you spiral over what people think. You’re assuming an audience that doesn’t exist. Everyone is too busy running the exact same anxious loop about themselves to spend real time studying you. That’s not a comforting lie. That’s just how attention actually works. People have a finite amount of it, and almost all of it gets spent on their own life, not yours. So next time you catch yourself spiraling, run the thirty second test. Try to name the audience you’re performing for. When you can’t, you’ll realize you’ve been adjusting your entire life around people who were never actually watching. Confidence isn’t convincing everyone to like you. It’s finally accepting that most people were never paying enough attention to judge you in the first place. Comment the word “BETTER” If you want a daily practice that builds real confidence instead of constant self monitoring.
