Honoring them to me, means not thinking for something bad to happen to them, or speaking ill of your parents, i do get that to some they resent their parents for being neglectful or irresponsible parents but that is something they have to answer to God, as a child we are answerable to God as to how we are as their daughters or son… you don’t have to like them but you need to respect them as your parents, its pretty much like when you are in your job, you might not like your boss but still you need to obey them if they make a mistake they will have to answer to the one higher than them. You can distance yourself if its becoming toxic so you can avoid committing a sin of hating or talking back

This is so timely coz I just have an arguement with my mom last day. I feel so guilty but old wounds always come back when we talk. I always got the blame against my older sibling and its so unfair. Im 39yrs old now, but still treated like that child. Childhood pain mever heal easily esp they are still provoking it. :(
