@docamen: One of the simplest tools I teach my patients for anxious moments doesn’t require a prescription. It’s something you can do anywhere: breathe differently. When you’re stressed or anxious, your breathing often becomes faster and more shallow. Diaphragmatic breathing does the opposite, helping activate your parasympathetic nervous system…the “rest and digest” side of your nervous system. Try this: 🫁 Breathe deeply into your belly, not your chest ⏱️ Inhale slowly for 4 seconds ⏸️ Pause for 1–2 seconds 🌬️ Exhale slowly for 8 seconds 🔁 Repeat for several breaths The key is the longer exhale. It sends your body a very different signal than rapid, shallow breathing. Your breath is one of the few tools you can use in the moment to influence how your nervous system responds to stress. Save this for the next time your mind or body feels overwhelmed. #brainhealth #MentalHealth #diaphragmaticbreathing #breathwork #StressRelief

Donut-Slut :
This happened to me. I allowed the fear take over and ended up being agoraphobic for 2 months. Almost 30 years later and I still struggle.
