Kings aren’t looking for him to score. They need him to back up Acuff, rebound, and be switchable on defense. If he can’t or doesn’t do that, he gets cut.

He was actually decent on the clippers in 2025 when his role was just to rebound pass and play defense, I think he could be a serviceable role player for a playoff team

It’s one of the last roster spots on their team. On a minimum. Why not take a flier. It’s not like they’re asking him to be the savior. He’s a 6’10 playmaker who can defend. Not asking him to be Klay. Ben has only played in big markets. Why not go to a rebuilding team with the most passionate fans.
