It’s kinda like what NF said in his old song “all I have” “I still have a job and do this, and you know what’s stupid? I thought all you had to do is get a record deal and things start movin, sometimes that’s not the case because y’all think this artist is new but they’ve been at it for years” sometimes you gotta work 40 hours a week to pay the bills and use the OT to finance the dreams

Having your own business is hard—-Having that steady pay check (woah), and plus I feel like I was working 10+ hours a week

There’s some truth to that but most people will never work as hard as when their back is up against a wall. How hard will you fight to swim if you got water wings. It’s helpful but people who jump in the pool with nothing will swim a lot harder to make it.

Not only that, and I haven’t even finished the video, but some people need to learn some kind of structure, especially people who want to be independent artists. If you can’t learn to get up and work, even when you don’t want to, like you would at a 9 to 5, you’re never going to get to where you want to with your creative endeavors.

Good advice. Often times we let our ego stop us from getting an actual job once we get that first big check. Also sometimes we don't train for a decent 9 to 5 so we don't have the skills to support ourselves if the dream is delayed or does not come through.
