One of the brother said they compile the prophet sayings ,but we never follow Hadees . we follow only Quran and Sunnah . so not hadees has sunna which only help understand the essence of Quran and Quran Take president if any Hadees does not have reference or topic is not covered by the Quran

If you said Umar rejected hadeeth except Quraan you should know the situation when Umar refused, Umar was saying that during the time when Prophet was sickbed,he was confused same as he was confused again during the death of the Prohet pbuh and saying whoever says Prophet died i will kill him until Abubakar r.a recited the verse which says( And Muhamd was nothing except the mesenger of Allah, if he dies natural death or killed will you turn back .....) so do you agree that prophet was not died beacause Umar refused
