@janedoe0018: Ok did tampon boxes ACTUALLY used to say you could flush tampons down the toilet? Apparently so many people remember it saying that on the box, but does anyone have proof?? #tampons #periodtok #flushabletampons #tamponinstructions #mandelaeffect

I'm almost 30 and have never seen a box say you can. in fact, I've seen it specifically say DO NOT FLUSH

As if they didn’t used to make coke with white powder in it. Times change and people need to learn to read new and updated packaging’s

I always flushed until I lived in a well/septic home. Flushing plastic, no. But the actual insert, yes. I hate living with a septic system now. I’ll take my “dirty” city water/sewer over this any day. Who wants to have a used tampon sitting in a trash can? And who would change their trashcan every time they change their trash can or bag?!

I have never heard of flushing any period products down the toilet, and I've never seen a box say to flush it.

I’ve never heard of it. BUT I looked it up and in the 90s, tampon boxes did say they were flushable

Don't ever remember that, and I know a couple of people who had to pay thousands to fix their septic systems because they were flushing their tampons.
