Rescue needed ASAP❗️ 🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘 We are seeking immediate rescue for this 3-year-old female Poodle mix; she was brought in today by a field officer weighing 10 lbs. This sweet girl was found at an area along the river known for dumping animals, she was picked up (by one of our officers) wrapped in a blanket and loaded on the truck for transport to the shelter. Once they arrived, she was immediately taken to our hospital for medical exam. Per our veterinarian: #A615783 Just presented; found down, unable to run from animal control officer, absolutely COVERED in sharp cockleburs 💔💔💔 Her hind limbs are weak/paretic and her front limbs are rigid/hypertonic, making it difficult for her to stand. She seems to have normal mental faculties/awareness of her surroundings. I suspect a T3-L3 NAL (spinal lesion near shoulders, trauma vs disc disease) although intracranial disease cannot be entirely ruled out (long list of differentials including trauma, parasitic, infectious, inflammatory). Pt cannot walk long distances although she can get up and stand with effort and take a few steps. She's surprisingly young, probably around 2. I shaved all the matts Immediate rescue would be great, she'll be happier with an attentive medical rescue helping her out, but she'll get good rest here and will likely improve with time. I spent a few minutes at the kennel, she was very aware of my presence and although she didn’t pick up her head or attempt to move, she did follow my movements with her eyes. She allowed me to pet her, check her teeth and move her legs without any reaction or response.
