I’m a 16 year old in a family who “keeps everything” I have never once cleaned my room. Every time I “clean” I don’t actually get rid of anything. There are probably 20 shoeboxes full of old papers. Every drawing, craft, toy, and piece of clothing I’ve ever had is in my room. It’s not easy to get rid of things as a hoarder or someone with ADHD, especially if you’ve literally never been taught. It’s stressful and sad, and I wish I had someone to help me.

I am glad she was able to get help before it got to where your usual videos are. I am not trying to be mean. I truly mean it. I am hurt from a work accident and it’s super hard for me to do anything around my house. It’s very painful and exhausting. I grew up is a hoarder house and am terrified of it happening in mine. For my entire adulthood I have always just thrown things away. I don’t even know why I buy them in the first place. However I keep nothing. My house is so bare because of my fear. However, I am blessed to have children that will help me because they understand my fear. I understand that is not the case for everyone. My children also just help because they know I have a hard time asking. My son in law even understands this. I am truly blessed. As are the people you help. It’s hard to function through pain and depression. You guys are angels.

A hoarding cleaner I (and many many others) follow says she does it by a small space, so like 4’ x 4’ section. Keep moving around the room like that.
