@sayitformemusic: I don't think I was prepared for this part of getting older. You spend so much of your life getting through things. Raising families, working, worrying, surviving things you never thought you'd have to survive. You think by this age you'll finally know yourself. You'll feel more settled. More sure. And then one day, things that used to be easy feel harder. Your body feels different. Your mind feels different. Your emotions feel different. Sometimes even the woman looking back at you feels different. Perimenopause and menopause can change so much, and I wanted to write about what it feels like to be inside of it.
