Native Fort Scottian here. Great mini documentary! As a white kid growing up around here in the 80's, I saw "Birthplace of Gordon Parks" along the town's main drag, but learned nothing else about him until I visited the Gordon Parks Museum in my 30's. They do better here now at honoring his legacy. Did you know about the mural along a walking trail/ park?

Here in fort Scott we have beautiful murals on him and when I was in high school I took photography and he is the number one person we learned about including entering our photos for the Gordon Parks museum where they would have a art gallery with all of our photos! Such an amazing thing to learn about and also see his point of view threw his eyes while looking at the amazing photos he took!
