@drjoedamiani: 🔥 Ear ringing, aching, or fullness—but doctors can’t find anything wrong with your ear? Your JAW may be worth looking at. Your TMJ sits right next to the ear canal, and the jaw joint and surrounding muscles can sometimes contribute to ear-related symptoms. 💡 Here’s what may be happening: ⚡ 1. TMJ irritation The TMJ contains a disc that helps the joint move smoothly. When the joint becomes irritated or the disc isn’t moving normally, symptoms can sometimes be perceived around the nearby ear. ⚡ 2. Masseter tension The masseter is one of your primary jaw-closing muscles. Jaw-muscle dysfunction and somatosensory input from the jaw can influence tinnitus in some people. ⚡ 3. Medial pterygoid tension This deep jaw muscle sits near structures involved in the jaw and throat region. Dysfunction here may contribute to feelings of tension or fullness around the ear, although ear fullness can have many other causes. 🛠️ Try this 3-part jaw routine: ✅ STEP 1: TMJ “Wobble” Grab both sides of your jaw and gently alternate pulling downward from side to side to introduce movement through the jaw. ✅ STEP 2: Masseter release Start along the lower jaw and work upward toward the cheekbone with firm, comfortable pressure. You can add gentle mouth opening or use cross-friction over particularly tender areas. ✅ STEP 3: Medial pterygoid release Follow the inside of your lower teeth toward the back of your mouth until you reach the soft tissue along the inner jaw. Use gentle, tolerable pressure over tender areas rather than aggressively digging into them. Try the routine for 2–3 minutes daily and see how your symptoms respond. 🔥 Important: Ear ringing, pain, or fullness can have causes unrelated to the jaw, so persistent, new, one-sided, or worsening symptoms—especially with hearing loss, drainage, or significant dizziness—should be medically evaluated. #TMJ #Tinnitus #EarFullness #JawPain #JawTension
