DO NOT play around with hydroquinone in any under circumstances UNLESS it’s personally prescribed by your dermatologist. Use tretinoin, azelaic acid whatever you want, just avoid hydroquinone. There are safer alternatives like tranexamic acid, alpha arbutin, hexylresorcinol

I started 20% azeilic acid everyday twice a day on slightly damp skin for most penetration, and it didn’t sting at all. Moisturiser after not befor for most penetration. Azeilic acid isn’t irritating at all at least for me.

i legit run isotret + topical tret + HQ rn. Not everyone has the same skin barrier so general advice will never apply to everyone. My skin barrier is extremely resistant to topicals, it needed isotret to dry it out a bit to even be affected by topical tret. Just do what works for u
