According to information provided by his family, about two months ago, Adamu left New York City and traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was going to work. After he arrived in Pennsylvania, he was still communicating with his mother, brothers, and other family members. Everything seemed normal. They were talking, checking on each other, and there was no indication that something was wrong. But then, days later, everything suddenly changed. His family stopped hearing from him. His mother called him. His brothers called him. Other family members tried reaching him—but he was not answering. His phone was reportedly no longer going through, and nobody knew where he was. The family became extremely worried. They say they began trying to find out whether Adamu had been taken into ICE custody or was being held at a detention facility. According to the family, they contacted ICE detention centers in New York, Philadelphia, and other locations in the United States, but they were reportedly told that Adamu was not being held in any ICE detention center. And right now, his family says they still don’t know where he is. They don’t know where he went. They don’t know why he stopped communicating.
